Why do I need a wallet app for digital shares?

Digital shares are stored on the blockchain and issued as tokens. You need a suitable wallet app to see and access your shares. It is basically an app where you can receive, store, and send your digital shares safely and securely. Your wallet can also store other types of tokens, such as cryptocurrencies, digital artworks (NFTs) or contracts. It is a central and well-protected space to manage all your digital assets and access them anytime.

Important: Keep your seed phrase safe!

When setting up your wallet, it is crucial that you write down the security key and keep it safe. The security key, also known as the seed phrase or recovery phrase, consists of 12 words (or 24, depending on the wallet) and is your master code that gives you access to your shares.

It is important that you write these words down in the correct order and keep them in a safe place (e.g. deposit them at the bank or lock them in a physical safe at your home). The security key serves as an access code to your wallet in case you lose your mobile phone or want to install the wallet on a new device.
